Restaurants and Bars: What's Open in South Bank

July 2nd, 2020 | by Emily Stedman

What's Open in South Bank

As places begin to slowly reopen in South Bank, we've rounded up some of our favourite local bars and restaurants that are now back and open for business.

You'll find links below to opening dates, all of the hygiene policies the restaurants have in place, and how they're keeping their venues safe and clean for everyone.

  • Skylon Restaurant & Bar

This iconic restaurant in Royal Festival Hall is open from the 4th July, and this time there's a special new surprise - a brand new outdoor bar!

Skylon serves up modern British cuisine bringing a seasonal contemporary approach to the kitchen. With stunning views over the river Thames, we especially recommend booking yourself in for one of their weekend brunches.

You can find all of the health and safety measures Skylon are putting in place here

The doors of the OXO Tower Restaurant, Bar and Brasserie are open once again! Drawing in Londoners for over two decades, the restaurant is an iconic landmark on London’s South Bank, comprising of three venues on the eighth floor of the OXO Tower.

Bookings are now available for parties of up to 6 from July 15th. They've got chilled bubbles, arguably one of the best views in London and a 200ft terrace just for you!

  • Gillray's Steakhouse & Bar

If you're headed to Gillray's, bring an empty stomach and high expectations. Situated in full view of Parliament, the seat of British democratic administration, Gillray's fine food is as remarkable as its surroundings. With a selection of over 100 gins, Gillray's serves classic and contemporary cocktails and a wide selection of beers, wines, and spirits.

Gillray's is open again from the 4th of July, and bookings are required. To book now, and to also read more about the hygiene practices they're putting in place, please visit here

  • Mamuska

Located just off the graffiti clad arches of Leake Street, Polish restaurant Mamuśka serves up traditional, hearty and delicious food daily. While Mamuśka remained open for delivery and take-away throughout staff, and helping to feed the NHS with their pay it forward scheme, from the 4th of July you now you can enjoy their delicious Polish cuisine in house. Treat yourself to some of mama's favourites!

  • Wagamama

From July 4th, Wagamama's benches are back and open in South Bank! In the spirit of kaizen, Wagamama have embraced positive change and introduced a range of safety measures, including their ingenious new sliding screens that will keep guests socially distant without impacting the guest dining experience. Who knows, it might even enhance it!

  • Gabriel's Wharf

If you're wandering round South Bank, there's no better spot to hop into than Gabriel's Wharf. From open local spots like Fitology Kitchen to The Big Melt, we recommend grabbing a delicious bite to eat and relaxing in Bernie Spain Gardens right next door.
