Watch This Space presents ... August Outdoors

The National Theatre's much celebrated 'Watch This Space' series returns with a jam packed programme of free theatre and performance events for you to enjoy. Join them, just in front of the National Theatre, every Friday and Saturday throughout August.

Line-up includes pop-up music, pop-up dance, a pop-up gallery and pop-up children’s theatre.

Friday 2 August
Sneakers/Streetlights by Half Human Theatre
Foot-stomping, knockabout, rockabout, rooting-tooting rock ‘n’ roll.

The Thinker by Stuff & Things
Be amazed, appalled and delighted by Vernon Ponder: the extraordinarily indiscreet human telepathic transmitter.

H2H by Joli Vyann
Dance, circus and theatre are fused into a dynamic performance exploring human relationships.

Screeving by Urban Canvas
Help create a massive work of art using a 500 year-old chalking technique and imagination.

Pigeon Poo People by Natural Theatre Company
Are they bird-like people or people-like birds? Ornithophobics keep away.

Capses by Laitram
Be puppeteer or spectator in a uniquely intimate and magical theatrical experience.

Caravania by The Bone Ensemble
Children aged 5-11 and their adults are invited to enter the micro-nation of Upper Caravania and play on the micro-beach.

Comedy swing whoopee band. Tip top jazz!

The Caravan Gallery
Within a mustard-coloured 1960s caravan, take a wry look at the British and their peculiar ways.

Total Eclipse of the Head by Ella Good & Nicki Kent
An interactive musical hairstyling experience inside a modish mobile salon.

Curious Curios by Kazzum Theatre
Visit Professor H Jones’ weird and wonderful museum in a garden shed.

The Preeners by Canopy Theatre
Mrs Preener wants her (peacock) son to settle down: 'Springwatch' meets 'Blind Date'.
