New Years Eve in South Bank

October 10th, 2019 | by Tom Harrow-Smith

New Year's Eve in South Bank

Is there anywhere as synonymous with New Year's in London as South Bank? The London Eye, fireworks and views over Big Ben are what everyone knows, but there is so much more on offer too. We've rounded up the best that South Bank has to offer, from rooftop parties to three course dinners and DJ sets.

This guide will be topped up throughout the autumn and festive season with more events as and when they are released.

  • Kids' Countdown with Ida Barr

Start your family’s New Year revels early at a daytime party with ex-music hall singer turned hip-hop goddess Ida Barr - the creation of Olivier-award-winning performer and theatre maker Christopher Green.

Ida’s celebration features sing-songs, dancing, tip-top hip-hop DJing, and communal joy. All ages can come and party hard, have a smashing time, count down to ‘midnight’ (12 noon) and still be in bed nice and early.

  • New Year’s Eve at OXO

Enjoy Champagne, a three course meal and live music plus a stunning rooftop view. New Year’s Eve 2019 will definitely be a night to remember at OXO. You can buy tickets to either the Restaurant or the Brasserie with a three course meal on offer in each as well as plenty of champagne to keep you ticking through the evening. There will be live music from 7.30pm until 11pm in both venues, but for those wishing to dance the night away, there will be a DJ spinning the best tracks until 2am.

Whilst the view from the OXO Restaurant and Brasserie offers spectacular views over London including St Paul's Cathedral, be advised that due to the curve of the River Thames you won't be able to see the main fireworks display. However, you're still welcome to walk down the river to see them and still be allowed back into the venue once they have finished.
