Backstage Tours at the National Theatre

Explore the backstage life of the internationally-renowned National Theatre, including seeing preparations for the shows, set-building, and props-making in the workshops. No two tours are ever the same, so head behind-the-scenes to see what’s happening.

Also available, unique Architecture Tours, exploring both the inside and outside of this iconic brutalist building. Designed by the architect Denys Lasdun, the National Theatre has divided public opinion since it opened in 1976. In 2001 a Radio Times poll featured the National Theatre in the top five of both the most hated and most loved of British buildings.

Devised with Patrick Dillon, architects of the NT’s recent refurbishment, come and see for yourself how Lasdun’s masterpiece has been revealed anew.
