IWM Contemporary: Imogen Stidworthy
IWM are proud to host contemporary multimedia artist Imogen Stidworthy, in an innovative new exhibition entitled The Work v5, from now until 6 September 2015.
Imogen Stidworthy’s sound installation, The Work v5 was developed through conversations with two former British soldiers suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and the wife of one of the soldiers, who lives with the effects of war at home.
Stidworthy transmits their voices through objects associated with conflict, exploring the nature of memory and the difficulty of communicating traumatic experience.
Stidworthy’s work has been exhibited at many reputed art galleries and museums worldwide. In 1996, Stidworthy won the Dutch Prix de Rome, in 2004 she was shortlisted for the Beck's Futures prize and in 2008 she won the Liverpool Art Prize.
This is an unmissable opportunity to experience some of her most innovative and thought-provoking work.
