The Vaults
The Vaults
London's home of immersive theatre and alternative arts
Set in a maze of disused railway tunnels and arches located underneath Waterloo station, The Vaults is London’s home for immersive theatre and alternative arts. A quirky, collaborative and all-inclusive space, The Vaults welcomes artists from all walks of life with a particular focus on providing a platform for new, unconventional and alternative productions and experiences.
The Vaults is spread across a network of arches and vaults accessed via the famous Leake Street tunnel and different nights see different activations happening across the eclectic space, complemented by lively bars and food offerings.
If you enjoy all things camp and cabaret, look out for regular award-winning shows led by some of the most exciting stars from London's queer and drag scenes. Dance, immersive theatre and cirque-centric shows also feature regularly, as do underground pop-up events such as the nomadic artist-led Hidden Jazz Club.
The Vaults is also the venue for the annual VAULT Festival. One of the UK’s biggest performing arts festivals, VAULT Festival presents more than 500 shows during an eight-week festival from late January to March.
Dedicated to reaching as diverse an audience as possible, since autumn 2022 The Vaults operates a 'Pay What You Can' ticketing system that aims to make the arts accessible to visitors from all backgrounds.
