VAULT Festival Food & Drink Guide

VAULT Festival Guide: Food & Drink in South Bank

Heading to Vault Festival this year and wondering where to grab a bite or a drink? Look no further... In 2019 over 79,000 watched one of the 400+ live shows on offer in and around South Bank and Waterloo and this year is set to be another bumper year for London's biggest, boldest and wildest arts festival. The festival’s hub is located in the graffiti clad arches of Leake Street, itself home to some great restaurants, cafes and bars, which means there’s plenty of convenient places to choose from for a pre / post show drink or meal. And if you’re keen to explore a bit further a field and see what the rest of South Bank has to offer, then there’s some fantastic and quirky venues to choose from without stretching your purse strings too tight.

  • Spiritland

One of the coolest venues in South Bank, Spiritland simply oozes style, from the bespoke velvet curtains, to the marble bar and rounded booths upholstered in leather. The restaurant gives a nod to the performing arts with a theatrical interior intended to comfort diners well into the small hours. Spiritland prides itself on its music, with a state of the art sound system that regularly has guest DJs spinning tracks all night long - Jarvis Cocker is among those featuring in February.

It’s not just a late night scene though, Spiritland offers diners a delicious range in their Breakfast and Lunch menus all for a great value, the Korean Chicken Sandwich is definitely one to sample.

  • Banh Bao Brothers

Located at the centre of Leake Street, Banh Bao Brothers is perfectly placed for a pre-show meal, the Vietnamese street food inspired menu means it’s great for sharing if you’re heading to the festival with friends. Try the ‘Bucket of beers and wings’ combo or the ‘Four Beer and Taster Tray’, which are perfect as a pre-show snack and tipple.

Aside from the mouth watering food on offer, it’s also one of London’s most Instagrammable foodie hotspots. Not only does it have its own street art inspired exterior that is befitting of its Leake Street setting, inside is an urban garden with pink blossomed trees and atmospheric lighting.
