A Vintage New Year at Southbank Centre

Last year’s Vintage New Year’s Eve party at Southbank Centre was a roaring success and it’s back this December, helping you ring in 2014 in style. Southbank Centre will be transforming the four floors of the Royal Festival Hall into a cornucopia of dance workshops, beauty parlours and photo studios, not to mention FIVE vintage nightclubs including The Soul Casino, The Pick-Up Joint, and The Torch Club. As the minute hand moves towards midnight, head out to the exclusive terrace, and enjoy the New Year’s Eve fireworks, lighting up the sky above the capital’s most iconic landmarks, The London Eye and Big Ben. Early bird tickets cost £95, or make the evening extra special by adding the three-course dining ticket for an additional £65.

New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner at Skylon

Situated right on the riverfront, Skylon is the perfect location for a glamorous evening of fine dining and firework frivolity. Enjoy a special tasting menu created by Executive Chef, Adam Gray before heading to the Royal Festival Hall terrace to take in the wondrous firework display, a glass of champagne in hand. The tasting menu includes dishes such as seared smoked salmon with potted brown shrimp and herb salad. If you are a veggie, enjoy the spelt risotto with roasted pumpkin, melting stilton cheese, and toasted pumpkin seeds. For afters, indulge in a golden dark chocolate tart with pistachio ice cream. Once you have polished off your meal, dance the night away to a soundtrack of smooth classics from the Urban Soul Orchestra. The evening will cost you a cool £265, but it will be well worth it.

New Year’s Eve at London Marriott County Hall and Gillray’s

Slightly further upstream, at the London Marriott Hotel County Hall, there are three delightful dining options to choose from. Enjoy this New Year with the entire family. The highly-skilled chefs at Marriott have created an extensive buffet menu featuring treats such as English lamb cutlets and Wiltshire ham – dining suitable for all the family in the King George V Suite. If you are staying in the hotel overnight, enjoy an exclusive event in the Library Lounge. A menu of smoke chicken, crab and gruyere tart, baked goat’s cheese, roast lamb and chocolate cake can be enjoyed whilst taking in the spectacular views across the River Thames to the Houses of Parliament. Finally, what better place to see in the New Year than overlooking one of the finest vistas in England from Gillray’s Steakhouse and Bar. Start with a champagne reception then move on to a five course dinner which includes a Langoustine consommé, Angus beef fillet, and pineapple sorbet.  Surround yourself with your loved ones and enjoy live entertainment throughout the evening. These three exclusive dinner packages cost £90, £155, and £290 respectively.
