The Missing Light

‘You’re never too old for hopes and dreams… there’s always time for plans and schemes.’

The Missing Light is an inventive and enchanting daytime puppetry show for children aged 7+ created by Mark Arends for Make Mend and Do.

When loneliness is replaced by a far-off flickering light, two elderly friends break free on a journey to reconcile their pasts and find what remains of their futures.

Praise for Mark Arends’ Something Very Far Away (Winner of the Off West End Award for Best Production for Young People 2013):

‘Something Very Far Away remains one of the most genuinely moving shows I’ve seen’

Discover The Old Vic

EXPERIENCE THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE AT THE OLD VIC.

Under the artistic direction of Matthew Warchus, The Old Vic presents an exciting and eclectic programme of new writing, classic plays, musicals, dance and variety.

With a unique sense of event at every performance, this 200 year old building is one of London’s best-loved and oldest theatres. Located just a stone's throw away from Waterloo Station, the theatre has had a fascinating history with several incarnations - including being the original home of the National Theatre of Great Britain before it found it's permanent spot on the South Bank. The venue made headlines when it announced in 2003 that Kevin Spacey would become Artistic Director, being succeeded by Matthew Warchus in 2015.

Today The Old Vic acknowledges it's deep theatrical roots whilst focusing on invigorating new writing with works that engage in diverse conversation.
