For those who are into seriously good food, nothing beats French cuisine- and Brasserie Joël, located at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge is somewhat of a hidden gem when it comes to this.

Head Chef Walter Ishizuka sources nothing but the highest quality, freshest ingredients, with his team creating classic brasserie dishes to delight the palate. It is no wonder then that Brasserie Joël also holds 2 AA rosettes for culinary excellence.

Chef Walter's father travelled from Japan to Lyon in the 1960’s, to learn the art of French cooking and is one of his biggest inspirations. Following his training in Lyon (renowned for its gastronomic heritage), Ishizuka worked at Lyon’s infamous three Michelin-starred Paul Bocuse Restaurant, followed by further work at Paris Ritz’s two-Michelin starred Restaurant; L’Espadon.

Ishizuka’s menus blend classic French fare with a delicate approach to flavour and texture derived from his Japanese heritage – with dishes featuring bold, simple flavours cooked using only the very finest ingredients.

The new menu at Brasserie Joël includes typical French dishes such as beef bourguignon, mignon pork fillet and dry aged beef tournedos Rossini with potato cake, pan-fried foie gras and truffle sauce.

For dessert, enjoy a refreshing citrus cheesecake, a vanilla crème brûlée, a hot chocolate fondant or a poire belle hélène…And if you don’t have much of a sweet tooth, don’t worry, there are a selection of delicious cheeses on offer.
